There can be no doubt now that the past four years contained arguably the most egregious cover-up in the history of American politics.
The term “soft coup” is probably more appropriate than cover-up, as the latter implies insiders were privy to information the general public was not. But any nonpartisan observer could see that from the very beginning of his 2020 presidential run, Joe Biden was not fully in command of his mental faculties. It only got worse from there until the curtain was lifted in front of the entire world on the debate stage in June 2024.
Yet even though we could clearly see the president mentally collapsing, those inside his administration and the dutifully pliant propaganda press tried to convince us that this man who wandered off aimlessly in the middle of photo ops with world leaders, meandered into the Amazon, and inquired if a deceased congresswoman was present at a conference was in reality a whirlwind who was energetic and on top of things. “I can’t even keep up with him!” claimed then-Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
This is not the first time a president has been incapacitated due to mental decline. Woodrow Wilson suffered a debilitating stroke 17 months before leaving office. In shades of Dr. Jill Biden, First Lady Edith Wilson acted as de facto president in her husband’s stead. Unlike today, however, there were far fewer press outlets in 1919, so Wilson’s condition was successfully buried by a complicit media. Old habits die hard, it seems.
Joe Biden was not so fortunate. Indeed, even then-Bernie Bro Joe Rogan observed in 2020 that Biden “clearly” was suffering a cognitive decline. I recall driving in my car with my daughter, who heard one of Biden’s slurring, disjointed ramblings in an otherwise Biden-friendly broadcast. She observed, “He sounds like Grandpa.” (Her grandfather was suffering from severe cognitive decline as well as Parkinson’s by then.)
What the Democrat Party and corporate media tried to pull on the American people is nothing short of disgraceful, and, although I am not sure what statutes would apply, my gut tells me criminal. For four years, all to protect the interests of their party and thus preserve their hold on power, Democrat operatives constantly went before the cameras and declared with straight faces only sociopaths could manifest that Joe Biden was “sharp, intensely probing, and detail-oriented and focused” (Alejandro Mayorkas); “at the top of his game” (Janet Yellen); “attuned” to political issues (Nancy Pelosi); and “the best Joe Biden ever” (Joe Scarborough). As to his age? Well, the nation was the beneficiary of his elderly wisdom (Jamie Raskin). It goes on and on. Pick any prominent Democrat pol or pundit over the past four years, and you’ll find a treasure trove of such deceptions.
When those with eyes and ears did raise legitimate concerns over Biden’s obvious mental decay, they were often slapped with the argument from authority fallacy by way of rebuttal — the “are you a neurologist?” defense.
As the shameless Jake Tapper, who now has the audacity to cash in with a book about the very scandal in which he was a willing participant, chided Laura Trump when she brought up the health concerns in 2020: “I think you were mocking his stutter. And I think you have absolutely no standing to diagnose somebody’s cognitive decline. I would think somebody in the Trump family would be more sensitive. People who do not have medical licenses diagnosing politicians from afar.” (For the record, my father was a stutterer. He was also a successful executive. This was no “stutter.”)
And now comes another shoe drop: The former president suffers from advanced prostate cancer — one that oncologists will tell you does not just materialize overnight but was most likely present from before Biden took office in 2020. One can’t help but think that the timing of releasing this diagnosis, which points to yet another cover-up of the fact that we had a man whose mental and physical health wholly disqualified him from holding office, is strategic.
The Democrat Party is desperately trying to divert attention away from this growing political atom bomb regarding their blatant lies about Biden’s condition with a transparently cynical attempt to tug on heartstrings. To wit: Who cares about the past now? How can you “politicize” this poor man’s cancer?
But this tactic won’t wash. There are far too many important questions germane to the very health of our republic that make investigations, congressional hearings, and, should the evidence lead, criminal charges an absolute necessity.
For instance, who was actually running this country? Who was driving U.S. policy?
Additionally, how long did the president have cancer? If it was missed, how is that possible given his access to the world’s best health care and most diligent monitoring? And, more telling, if it was not missed, then who made the call to withhold this vital bit of information from the American people?
Finally, if Biden was mentally and physically incapacitated when his staffers were autopenning more than 8,000 acts of clemency, then are those edicts even valid? After all, in contract law, non compos mentis is grounds for voiding any agreement. Does the same principle apply here? Legal action is needed to find out.
I asked several contract lawyers about that last one. One offered that, were he in the GOP, he would demand that Joe Biden, sick or not, be brought before Congress and grilled about the depth of his knowledge, not just of the pardons but of his many executive orders. But it must be done quickly, as Biden’s health will only worsen. The Democrats will claim this is cruel to an ailing elderly man for political gamesmanship, but nothing was crueler than wheeling him out before the world to implode during the debate last June, so spare the crocodile tears.
Serious damage was done to this nation’s institutions by a group of unelected, far-left activists and apparatchiks usurping the constitutional power of the presidency while denying the electorate a democratic voice in their own governance. The American people deserve answers. They have a right to know who was actually in charge of the executive branch, with all its awesome power, for four years. Who knew, and why did they keep it hidden from the people they are supposed to serve?
If the GOP wants to fulfill one of its election mandates, it must bring those complicit in this lie to the fore to be mercilessly grilled and, if warranted, prosecuted. If they do not, then it is clear the rot has infected both parties, and those in charge of our supposedly representative government will try to kill this scandal by neglect. If so, the republic is in serious jeopardy no matter who wins the next election.
