After spending years helping cover up Joe Biden’s obvious mental decline, Russia collusion hoaxer and left-wing propagandist Jake Tapper is now trying to gaslight Americans into believing he had nothing to do with the media-wide scandal.
The CNN host spent Tuesday hawking his upcoming book on X, which promises readers an inside look at the Biden administration’s efforts to hide the Delaware Democrat’s “health issues” — efforts the media were more than happy to participate in. Despite his best attempts to feign innocence on the subject, Tapper was one of the main leftist hacks leading the media campaign to try and convince Americans that the doddering Biden on their television screens was just a figment of their imaginations.
Here are a few examples of Tapper engaging in the cover-up.
Lara Trump Interview
More than four years ago, weeks before the 2020 presidential election, Tapper hosted Lara Trump for a CNN interview in which the First Daughter dared to question Biden’s mental acuity. As Tristan Justice previously wrote in these pages, Tapper attempted to run interference for Biden by accusing Trump “of ‘mocking his stutter’ after the Democrats exploited a 13-year-old stutterer at the nominating convention.”
“I think you were mocking his stutter,” Tapper said. “I think you have absolutely no standing to diagnose somebody’s cognitive decline. … Plenty of people have diagnosed your father from afar, and I’m sure it offends you, your father-in-law.”
‘Embracing’ the Stutter
His interview with Lara Trump was hardly the only instance in which Tapper tried to use Biden’s apparent “stutter” as an excuse for his clear decline. During a CNN segment last year, the network host boldly declared that “President Biden embraces his stutter, talking about it, while Trump mocks it, exaggerates it, belittles it.”
‘Sharp’ as a Tack
During a CNN segment titled “Inside Look Into Joe Biden’s First Two Years As President,” the famed Russia collusion hoaxer emphatically stated that the then-president “is sharp … mentally.”
“I think the question is physically, right, more so? And the guy who is his chief opponent is only three or four years younger than him,” Tapper said to his fellow panelist.
Interrogating Biden’s 2024 Democrat Primary Opponent
Ahead of Biden’s 2024 State of the Union address, Tapper interviewed then-Rep. Dean Phillips, D-Minn., who had suspended his longshot primary challenge to the Democrat president. During his interrogation of Phillips, Tapper probed the Minnesota congressman over criticisms and concerns he raised about the party’s efforts to ignore Biden’s decline.
“Do you worry that you damaged him at all?” Tapper asked.
The CNN host then went on to all but attack Phillips, claiming he’s “heard a lot of nasty stuff about [Phillips] from [his] Democratic colleagues.”
“I mean, just like, ‘What is he thinking?,’ ‘exercise in narcissism,’” Tapper said.
Dismissing Reports of Biden’s Decline
During one CNN segment, Tapper dismissed claims reportedly made to The Wall Street Journal “about President Biden’s mental fitness and acuity” as “false.”
One Russia Collusion Hoaxer to Another
Leading up to last year’s Super Tuesday, Tapper interviewed fellow Russia collusion hoaxer Adam Schiff during a segment seemingly about the feds’ special counsel investigation into Biden’s mishandling of classified documents. Prosecutors declined to bring charges against Biden because they believed the then-president “would likely present himself to the jury, as he did during our interview with him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
In an apparent attempt to run interference for Biden, Tapper said, “He’s 81, and his memory, you know, it doesn’t seem great; it’s not horrible, but I don’t understand the outrage.”
Ignoring WSJ Findings
While discussing a June 2024 report from The Wall Street Journal that contained numerous alleged encounters documenting Biden’s decline, Tapper seemingly tried to delegitimize the outlet’s reporting by saying, “The Wall Street Journal is owned by News Corp, which is run by the Murdochs.” The CNN host went on to downplay the article’s findings by repeatedly professing that the piece is “mostly based on observations of Republicans” — despite the report also featuring interviews with Democrats.
Tapper then asked Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., if he’s “heard any concerns from anyone who has met with President Biden about him seeming a little slower,” to which Coons replied, “No.”
The Russians!
Tapper reportedly once said, “The Russians are trying to … make us and the public not trust … our election integrity, [believe] Joe Biden has dementia, and all this stuff …”
The Stutter
Blaming Biden’s supposed stutter on his evident decline was a habit Tapper couldn’t seem to break.
As Tristan Justice previously noted, “Tapper had previously responded to Trump’s remarks about Biden’s health months before the October 2020 interview [with Lara Trump] by posting an Atlantic piece on X. The article, authored by magazine writer John Hendrickson, made the case that Biden’s frequent mumbling throughout the Democrat primary was the consequence of a life-long struggle rather than late-age deterioration.”
